What is the status of STAC 2020 Conference?

STAC 2020 has been cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why has STAC 2020 been cancelled?
CWTA and the STAC Steering Committee have put the health and welfare of participants and the local host community at the forefront of its decision making. The increasing risk assessment regarding the spread of COVID-19 and the travel restrictions that are changing daily led us to take this decision.

Will there be a STAC 2020?
STAC 2020 has been cancelled. The STAC Steering Committee is looking into options to bring the conference back to Vancouver in future years.


Refunds


Will my hotel room reservation be refunded?

If you have made a hotel room reservation at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, it has been automatically cancelled and any deposits paid will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment. If you have booked outside our official block, please contact the hotel directly.

Will my airfare be refunded?
Please ask your travel agent/airline and let them know you are cancelling or modifying your booking due to the cancellation of STAC 2020. The responsibility for airfare bookings and refunds falls outside the scope of STAC 2020 and will be dependent on the type of fare booked and any travel insurance coverage.

Will my conference registration fees be refunded?
Yes. All delegates registered and paid will be issued an automatic refund to the original form of payment within 6-8 weeks from the cancellation announcement.

I am an exhibitor and/or sponsor–will my fees be refunded?
Yes. All sponsors and exhibitors who have committed and paid will be issued an automatic refund to the original form of payment within 6-8 weeks from the cancellation announcement.

Can I transfer my exhibit and/or sponsorship fee to the postponed meeting?
Details to come.

As an exhibitor, I shipped materials to Vancouver for distribution at my exhibit booth. Can I get this material back or can it be used next year?

Is it still safe to travel to Vancouver if I want to meet partners even if STAC is not being held this year?

The decision to travel is your choice and you are responsible for your personal safety abroad. Please check the Public Health Agency of Canada website for the latest information.
