STAC will host its 5th annual conference on March 31-April 1, 2020 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.

From its location on the West Coast, the STAC 2020 Conference & Exhibition will feature two full days of discussion and presentations by industry-leading thinkers on the most important issues in the Canadian tower industry.

The annual STAC conference is the premier event dedicated to Canadian tower safety and is devoted to sharing the important information and best practices that will help maintain Canada’s world-leading tower safety record. STAC 2020 will bring together more than 300 communications and tower industry professionals, including wireless carriers, broadcasters, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, landowners, safety equipment suppliers and safety trainers, among others. Attendees will learn about new industry practices and technologies and will receive exclusive information about the development of STAC best practices and other industry resources that are normally only available to STAC Members.

Information for Delegates

The STAC 2020 Conference & Exhibition will bring together executives and personnel in Canada’s tower and antenna industry for two days of lively and entertaining networking and discussion. Conference seminars and panels will focus on issues relating to tower engineering and tower safety, working-at-heights and fall protection requirements, and the future of the communication tower industry, among others.

Registration Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Registration cancellations received in writing at the STAC2020 Conference & Exhibition /International Conference Services Secretariat’s address on or before March 2, 2020 will be accepted and all fees refunded, less a CAD 100 administrative fee (as per Committee policy). Cancellations received after March 2, 2020 will not be refunded; however, transfer of your registration to another person is acceptable. This can be done by re-accessing your registration. No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Conference.

In the unlikely event that the Conference is cancelled, travel and accommodation costs will not be refunded.

Arriving by Car

From East
• From TransCanada Highway 1, take the Hastings Westbound Exit into downtown
• Turn left onto Burrard Street, proceed 6 blocks, and turn left into the hotel.
• From TransCanada Highway 1, take the Hastings Westbound Exit into downtown
• Turn left onto Burrard Street, proceed 6 blocks, and turn left into the hotel.

From Vancouver International Airport
• Follow the signs to Vancouver, over the Arthur Laing Bridge
• Take the Granville Street exit off the Arthur Laing Bridge and follow Granville Street for approximately 10 miles
• Cross the Granville Street Bridge into the downtown core and take the Seymour Street exit. Seymour is a one-way street heading north.
• Follow Seymour Street to Helmcken
• Turn left on Helmcken and continue to the end of the street (three blocks). The Wall Centre complex comprises of two tall blue glass buildings located on the right-hand corner of Helmcken and Burrard, directly across the street from St. Paul’s Hospital.

From North
• From Highway 99, take the Taylor Way Exit (number 99A)
• Proceed across Lions Gate Bridge, through Stanley Park, onto Georgia Street
• Turn right onto Burrard Street
• Turn left into the hotel

From South
• From Highway 99, continue straight onto Oak Street
• Turn left onto 49th Avenue
• Turn right onto Granville into downtown
• Turn left onto Helmcken Street
• Continue for 2 blocks to the hotel, and turn right into the auto court

By Public Transit:
The new Canada Line is a fast and convenient way to travel from the Vancouver International Airport! The trip is approximately 26 minutes and the station can be accessed right at the airport in both domestic and international terminals. Transit tickets can be purchased at the main entrance to the station and the cost is approximately $9.00/person. Take the train to the Vancouver City Centre Station stop and then walk west towards Burrard Street. Follow Burrard Street South for 9 blocks to the hotel.

By Taxi:
The trip is approximately 30 minutes and taxi stands are located at most entrances around the airport. The cost of the trip is approximately $35-$40 one way.
