2024 STAC Lifetime Achievement Award – Mike Amyotte

STAC Lifetime Achievement Award

Mike Amyotte

Mike Amyotte is the Principal of consulting firm SkySafe Solutions, where he has provided strategic health and safety loss control initiatives for more than a hundred corporate clients across dozens of different industries.

He has also personally provided fall protection, rescue, and rigging training to hundreds – if not thousands – of Canadian tower climbers. In doing so, Mike has established himself as one of the industry’s utmost safety authorities.

Mike is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Applied Science program in Occupational Health. But his career actually started at the age of 18 as a journeyman tower construction rigger in the utility industry before transitioning to Leblanc and Royle as their health and safety manager in the mid 1990s.

With the benefit of a wealth of experience and expertise, Mike has crafted and delivered training programs, protocols, and procedures, and has conducted thorough inspections, investigations, audits, and hazard analyses. And while his consultancy services now extends across a number of industries, Mike’s primary focus remains on the construction and telecommunications sectors, specializing in heavy rigging, rope access, fall protection, and rescue.

Join us in celebrating Mike’s remarkable career and his invaluable contributions to fostering safer work environments.

The STAC Lifetime Achievement Award is provided to an individual in recognition of an abundance of acts or activities that have helped improve Canadian tower safety outcomes over an extended period of time.
