The Women of STAC committee held its annual summer meeting last month, on August 29th at Québecor’s headquarters in downtown Montreal.
The morning started off with a presentation by Marianne Berthelot of Vidéotron, who shared her experiences overcoming challenges in a new leadership role and how she conquered her fears to become the resilient team leader that she is today. The presentation fostered great discussion among the other Women of STAC members, who connected to Marianne’s story.
Following Marianne’s presentation was the networking lunch, and attendees had a chance to meet, connect, and share prior to the afternoon sessions.
Mandy Walsh of PPT a Centerline Company, who is both a member of the steering committee and one of the fabulous co-leads of the Women of STAC committee, kicked of the afternoon program with insights into her experiences in the industry, starting out as a young woman in the field and working her way up by cultivating connections.
Jackie Arnold of I Heart My Work then led the group into an invigorating workshop, titled Bring your Brilliance. Jackie taught skills on how to combat your inner critic, embrace your strengths, and face fears to become your most brilliant self. The workshop had attendees connecting, and reflecting, and there was even a little bit of arts and crafts!

To close the agenda, Peggy Tabet of Québecor and Katherine Winchester of the Canadian Telecommunications Association had a meaningful fireside (or rather, tower-side) conversation about the experiences that shaped who they are today as leaders in the industry. Their discussion focused on the importance of uplifting and creating space for team members.
After a day full of uplifting and inspiring presentations and conversations, attendees celebrated with other members in the STAC community at a nearby venue. The reception was graciously sponsored by Almvoy Inc., Pinargon, Seguin Morris, and Technostrobe Inc.

A thank you to all those who presented at the annual meeting and to those who attended the meeting and the reception, and a thank you to the companies who sponsored the reception. The committee had a successful day thanks to your participation.
A huge thank you also goes out to the amazing team at Vidéotron, who provided the amazing space for the group’s meeting at Québecor’s headquarters.
