The federal government has adopted new localized human exposure limits for radiofrequency fields in the range of 6 GHz to 300 GHz, effective immediately.
In a notice posted to the federal industry department’s website on February 2, the department said it was adopting new guidelines Health Canada published in January.
The new recommendations “scenarios where wireless devices operating in the 6 GHz to 300 GHz range are held close to the body, such as smartphones and tablets, including some 5G-enabled devices,” Health Canada noted.
