First STAC Golf Tourney Better than Par

With nearly 100 golfers, our inaugural golf tournament at Station Creek Golf Club in Gormley, Ontario was a huge success.

Congratulations to the Varcon team of Trevor Bolt, Kevin MacLeod, Brad Jones for winning the first place prize, and to the P-SEC team for winning the prize of being the most honest team. An additional congratulations to Benita Greyling from Bell for winning the longest drive competition.

As always, our valued members stepped up to support this STAC event, with Gap Wireless, Trylon and Varcon as the full conference sponsors, RVA Lighting & Masts as the Happy Hour sponsor, and Alliance Corporation, Rigarus Construction, Titan ÆX, Violin Group providing gift cards, swag bags and other raffle prizes. In addition, COMsolve was the drink cart sponsor, leading to their CEO Ofir Smadja becoming the most popular person on the golf course as he handed out drink tickets to our golfers. Thank you to all of our sponsors, without your support these STAC events would not be possible.

Following an afternoon of surprisingly good weather, our attendees gathered for an extended Happy Hour sponsored by RVA Lighting & Masts, before an amazing dinner buffet with great entertainment provided by Ed Hachey from SBA. At this dinner, we were pleased to announce that CWTA had pledged $2,000 towards the first Women of STAC bursary with funds from the raffle ticket purchases.

Our inaugural golf tournament was made possible through the hard work over the past few months by Mike Tasker of COMsolve, Keith Ranney from Bell, Ed Hachey of SBA, and Chantale Neapole of CWTA. Thank you to this group for all the behind the scenes work that made this event possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our inaugural golf tournament a success. We look forward to growing this event in the years ahead.
