Police launched an investigation into the first case on Jan. 3 after Telus crews responded to a tower in Lacombe County that was rendered “inoperable” because of vandalism, a news release said Thursday.

A few weeks later, Police were called to a vandalized cell tower near Rocky Mountain House after Telus crews initially responded to the vandalism on Jan. 23.RCMP members are working with Telus security to investigate the vandalism. They have not yet determined if the two cases are related.

Anyone with information regarding either tower is asked to call the Sylvan Lake RCMP detachment at 403-887-3333 or the Rocky Mountain House detachment at 403-845-2881. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.

Lacombe County is approximately 128 kilometres south of Edmonton, while Rocky Mountain House is approximately 215 kilometres southwest of the capital.
